in found in North of south
sofriere hills
-People who live near
volcanoes have risk maps
that help them know how
high are the risks of
having a volcanic
explosion.
-It is very important to
follow the vocanic risk
map because it will tell
you when an eruption will
happen.

-Here is how volcanoes form.
Its like air bubbles that are
forced up towards the
bottom of a bottle of
denser syrup. Molten rock
material, or magma, is
forced up towards the
Earths suface by denser
surrounding rock.
-The magma rising can lead
to an eruption. Magma,
solids And gas are flowed
out of a mountain that turn
into a volcano.

Some volcanoes form
because of a
disruption in the big
plates in the Earths
crust and in the upper
mantle.
This process makes a
string of volcanic
islands. These islands
are forming as the
plates that are made
up of oceanic crust
and mantle collide.


Additional facts
There are many things the volcanoes can cause
after an eruption.
It can clog water systems, damage vehicle
engines, make walking slippery, and effect
vegetation.
Can damage lungs and cause respiratory
problems because it is extremely abrasive. It can
also scratch eye tissue.
Can collapse buildings. 1 inch of ash weighs 10
pounds dry and up to 15 when its wet.
Can short circuit electrical items.
Can cause power outages which usually happens
after the eruption.
