Grade 4 Mrs.

Shannon Pages Class October 24, 2014

Thats a Wrap!
What an amazing 1st Quarter!
We had lots of fun learning new
things throughout this Quarter
in Science, Math, Social Studies,
Language Arts, and Technology!
As I reect on this Quarter, I cant help but be excited to see
what the next few months will bring. Throughout the 1st
Quarter the students focused on putting forth their personal
best work in all areas and were able to showcase their learning
during the Key Assignment. Watching them work with their
groups and present all of their projects with condence was
exciting and I hope that you were able to see the growth and
learning that has taken place since the beginning of the year.

Report Cards
Today the report cards are coming home and you will be able
to see the objectives and skills that your child has been
working towards since the beginning of Grade 4. You are
receiving the Standards Based Report Card, Math
Continuum, Reading Continuum, Writing Continuum, and
the Report Card with comments and grades. If you have any
questions about any of these documents please let me know
through email or during the Parent"Teacher Conferences on
October 28th and 29th. There is a schedule that is coming
home today with the report cards informing you of the time
that we will meet. The conferences will last for 20 minutes
and we will have time to discuss your childs progress and any
questions that you might have. I look forward to spending
this time with you while reecting on the progress that they
have made.

Thank you all so much for supporting
our class on Saturday during the Key
Assignments. The students truly
exceeded my expectations
throughout the entire project and I
know that they loved being able to
show you everything that they did. It
was amazing to see the students
conduct research, create maps and
3D models, write video scripts, record
videos, and connect their projects to
the Aurasma App. Their hard work
truly paid off when they were able to
see their peers, parents, and other
families get excited about learning
from them. I cannot wait to see what
they will accomplish by the next Key
Assignment. Thank you again for
coming and please let us know if you
have any feedback.

Please remember to check your
childs agenda daily for important
papers and homework. Homework
assignments will be changing over
the next week in order to include a
daily reading response and weekly
math practice using IXL and
TenMarks.
