Dear Parents and Caregivers,

My name is Alice Bishop and I am a third year pre-service teacher from Flinders University. I will be
working alongside Ms. Smith during the last week of Term 2 and the first four weeks of Term 3.
Initially, I will be observing your childs classroom and making note of the way Ms. Smith organises
and manages her classroom. After the term break, I will take a more central role in your childs
learning. I am very excited to have this opportunity and cannot wait to get to know each student
well. Much of my teaching practice focuses on developing deep relationships with children so that I
fully understand how they learn. I hope to support their learning academically, emotionally and
socially.
Following the Australian Curriculum for Year 5 some of the themes of my upcoming lessons will be
writing Monster stories, fractions, the history of the Gold Rush and, animal adaptations.
