Target audience
What is a target audience?
A target audience refers to the specific group of people you are aiming at and
what age is suitable to view the product.
Our target audience:
Our aim is to target people aged 15 to 48 because we have rated our film at the
age certification of 15. We decided this so that he content of our film met the
guidelines for the age certification set by the British board of film classification
(BBFC). The themes included in our film such as strong violence and means that
it must be rated a 15.
Gender:
Our film is aimed at both genders because we dont want to include any prejudice
view towards any gender; both genders are equally old and mature enough at
age 15 to understand the genre, themes and plots that go on in our film. Some
parts of the film, such as the violent scenes may appeal mostly to men more than
women.
Ethnicity: Our production will be available to all ethnicities to view.
Socioeconomic group:
We have no specific socioeconomic group because our film is mainly going to be
watched by people who are interested in films of the thriller or horror genres.
To make our film appeal to our target audience it will be advertised on all
channels excluding channels dedicated to childrens programming and at times
when certain channels have childrens TV shows on. We will also advertise on
social media such as Facebook and Twitter ensuring that word gets out about our
film. We will also use the data we collect from our questionnaires to view the
perspective interest in our film, as this will give us a stronger idea of the sort of
person who is looking to watch our film. Our film will also be advertised during the
trailers before films which match the same genre as our film.
