A Memo from Mrs.

Mefford
Dear Parents,
Grandparents Day and the Book Fair are here!! The children are looking forward to having their grandparents here
with them on Friday!! If the grandparents would like to take the children home after the program, they can since it is only a
half day of school. Otherwise, the students can go to car pick-up with me (or aftercare is that is the case).
Just to let you all know, we will officially begin a new schedule after Christmas break. Now that we have begun
Reading Groups, we need to rearrange our schedule. It is difficult to begin a brand new schedule right now due to Christmas
program practices. One change will be that we will no longer be having snack in the morning due to reading groups. This will
not go into effect until AFTER Christmas, so please continue to send snacks until then. Please make sure to look in
InfoDirect for ideas of at-home activities that can be used to reinforce new concepts that are discussed! Also please review
letters, numbers, and Bible verses with them each week. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!!

Other Notes:
1) Grandparents Day is FRIDAY!! You should have received an e-mail from Mr. Gray with more information about this
event. Grandparents are invited to a breakfast that begins at 7:30 (only grandparents, students report to the
classroom as usual). Then, they are invited to come into the classroom as early as 8:00. We will be having a review
day, so the students can show their grandparents how much they have learned this year. Grandparents will eat snack
with us, and then they are encouraged to take their grandchildren to look around the Book Fair. Then, they will be
able to enjoy the Christmas program performed by our students! Please let me know if your childs grandparents will
be attending, so we can make the correct number of gifts

2) Thank you to everyone who turned in money for the Angel Tree. Our children are very excited about buying gifts for
children who do not have much.
3) If you signed up to help with the Christmas party, please be on the lookout for information about the party. We will
have it Friday, December 19th, and we will plan for it to end at 11:30, so students can leave as soon as it is over. The
Thanksgiving meal did not take as long as I anticipated, so we will begin eating later at the Christmas party!
