Lighting
The follewing design eritetia are te be considered as minimum requirements
may be exceeded by local practices. The design engineer will iaise
closely with the Architect, Interior Designer & Specialist Lighting Consultants
with regard to the selection and location of decorative luminaries ond effects
both within and outside the hotel, together with the location of all outlets
required to supply portable decorative lamps.
Due to the increasing pressure for energy efficiency the design engineer wil
‘advite the design team to minimise the use of incandescent iuminaries. The
use of high frequency control gear in fluorescent luminaries will become
standard practice. Where it it practicable, the use of dimmable high
frequency fluorescent control gear. with related dimming equipment is to be
encouraged. A comprehensive lighting control system shall be provided
front and back of house areas to control energy usage.
The following erevides guidance on liuminance levels, surfaces where levels
should be measured and tyes of luminaries,
