Dear Ms. Morrill:
I am applying for a summer internship program for the Production position at Clear Channel Radio
Philadelphia. I read about the internship on Indeed.com. Clear Channel is very well known and it would
be great to receive an interview. The University has prepared me for internships and my knowledge of
production, studio equipment, and team work skills can be an asset to this company.
This semester will be my fourth year here at Indiana University of Pennsylvania as a
Communications major student making Deans list spring of 2014. My graduation date will be December
2015 with a Bachelors in Communications Media. This department has given me the information and
training I need to be successful in my internship and future career. The University has a 1,600 watt
student operated radio station, WIUP 90.1 where I am the new co-host of the radio show The
Underground Friday nights. Along with being on air, editing scripts for on air interviews and creating
radio station ideas are other areas I am experienced in.

a clip from the radio show I co-host is on there and a couple of photography pictures that I have taken.
All of these productions can show my diversity and different types of work that would be valuable at
Clear Channel Radio, it also shows my skills in the studio for video productions and on air radio it
would be great to have a chance to show you my online portfolio during the interview. Experience with
software like Cubase has giving me the knowledge to edit and mix.
Getting the experience to intern at a very well-known company will give me more knowledge and
training for the career of video or radio production. Hopefully we can set up an interview sometime
soon, very much looking forward to it. I will be in town in March and would like to schedule a meeting
then.
