Feedback on (Incomplete) Ancillary Products

1. Do you think the advertisement reflects the educational theme

surrounding my music video?
Yes definitely. I think the background of the lined paper, and the ticks and
crosses really reinforce the idea you want to convey. I think you have also
used the paper background cleverly with the margin being used as a line
for the additional information. The front also has a sense of school as it
looks somewhat grainy.
Yes, the lined paper and track list set out like a text paper is really
inventive, with font looking like it been drawn on the page.
Kind of, it is slightly unclear that advert is based on lined paper.

2. Do you think my ancillary products would be more impacting if

they featured the artist starring in my music video?
I think you have effective products here, which stand out and catch your
attention, which could be because there is no actor. I cant see how an
actor would considerably improve your products because they already
seem to work very well with each other and have a good brand identity.
Maybe on one of the sides of the digipak yes, but only to show a
relationship between the video and these products. Otherwise I think the
use of text papers and features iconic to school work well enough as they
are.
No, having no artist is fine.

3. Do you think the crosses and ticks featured on my track-list look

too artificial for the overall design?

Possibly. The overall tracklist has a washed out look (less vibrant), and the
red crosses and ticks stand out dramatically, though they make a good
contrast. Maybe it could be improved if the colour of them were slightly
dulled?
I think they look fine, they appear like a highlighter pen on the page so I
think it still works
They look good because they vary in shape, but they dont look like they
have been drawn on the lined paper.

4. How do you think my ancillary products could be improved?

I think the colours are a bit dull, maybe try making it brighter? I also think
maybe you could add something on the digipak (or even possibly the
advert) o make it more fun, this could be something school related, maybe
you could add doodles around it to add to the look of the rebellious school
kid because of the whole dropping out of school theme.
The background could be slightly lighter, but otherwise I think the digipak
works. The poster could include a bit more information on what tracks are
on the album and forms of release (CD/Download) but otherwise I think
the bold simplistic design works.
I think the lines on the digipak could be closer together, they seem to wide
apart compared to the font size.

5. Do you think I should continue with the theme of ruled paper

acting as the background of my digipak all throughout the
design?
Yes. I think they work well together and definitely tell the audience of the
idea of the artist/song/album and the genre it conveys.
Yes, I think it works in with the name of the song and fits with the video
No, it would be good to have more of a variation of graphics, maybe a
chalk board or something (although it is quite clich).

6. Do you think that my ancillary products should feature

handwriting through the design rather than font in order to
correlate to the idea of education, mimicking a students
handwriting? If not, do you feel as if the font used could be
improved?
No. I like the font used, I think it stands out more and makes it look more
sophisticated this way, whereas if you use a handwriting font, it may look
a bit cheesy? I think the school handwriting font is overused in products,
so yours stands out against them. I dont think there is much to be
improved on the font, maybe it is a little bit rounded and could be
sharper?
I think the text is fine as it is, hand writing the text may appear
unprofessional and messy, which although works with the idea of school
rebellion may not work as well for this product.
Not everywhere. It is good to stick to the same font scheme. So it would
be a good idea to use the same font from the advert in the digipak.
