March 20, 2015- Glenbard South Indoor Invitational

The girls track team started off their season at Glenbard Souths Indoor Invitational on Friday,
March 20th. Just as RB staff and students have battled through and been successful on even
the coldest days, our girls battled 2 months and numerous meets less than the other 10 teams
there. They made the four coaches proud and represented RB well. We have a very new team
with many freshmen who have come out to join and we are excited for the enthusiasm that they
all have brought.
We already have numerous standout performances from our first meet. Isabel Montefinese had
her first career long jump at 13 10 ! ANgelo Comicho used her basketball strength to nail her
first attempt at the ever challenging triple jump. Alex Vasquez, Ariana Escamilla, Alexis Garcia,
and Gabriella Watylk made up our 4x160 team with only 2 days of learning handoffs took on all
upperclassmen teams and though they didnt place ran their hearts out on Glenbards track. Our
4x400 team came out ferociously and one stand out, Paulina Linares has made it clear to us
that she has found her race! Kudos also goes to Lulu Keen who stepped up in the last minute to
fill the open 1600 run, which she had to come back 10 minutes after to run in the 4x400.
Though we didnt have any medal finishers, the potential that the girls showed only excites the
whole team and coaches for the next 2 months. We are back to the practicing and hoping this
weather allows us to enjoy our outside time!
