Kindergarten news
This weeks theme: What do scientists
do when they discover something new?
We read books about discoveries this
week, including a Curious George story
about dinosaurs.
We are working on reading and writing
lots of CVC (consonant, vowel,
consonant) words such as hat, or pin.
Language Arts
Letter of the week: Review Week
Letters learned- Dd, Rr, Gg, Ii,
Bb, Ff, Nn, Pp, Cc, Tt, Aa, Ss, Mm
*Students should be able to
identify these letters, their
sounds, and words that start with
each letter.
Sight words this week: Review Week
(Word list 8 in word books)

soon, they, up, will, into, your, be,

Reading Month

Remember to read
every day!!!
We talked about Mo Willems illustrations
this week and learned how to draw the
pigeon.
Dress up days next week are:
Tuesday- College Day- wear your favorite
college colors
Thursday- Dress up as your future career
Friday- Class Color Day- Our class colors
are black/grey
*We will not really be talking about careers in
class next week, because we always do this
at the end of the year in Kindergarten. But
students can still dress up on Thursday as
their future career.

Bring a stuffed animal to school day!

Next Tuesday, students can bring a
stuffed animal to school with them. They
will carry their stuffed animal around
during the day, have special reading time
with their stuffed animal, and at the end
of the day we will write about our
adventures!
Please do not send in very large stuffed
animals!

Math

Reminders/ Other News

We are continuing to work on higher

numbers. By the end of this unit, students
should be able to count to 100 and
identify and write numbers to 100.
