Arizona Department of Transportation Discussion of the ADOT Key Commerce Corridor Initiative and how the Phoenix to Tucson Passenger Rail may someday fit in the Arizona Transportation System. As we all know transportation is the foundation for moving commerce and trade in Arizona. ADOT has been working on a project that identifies what are the Key Commerce Corridors in Arizona, and how they fit in nationally and globally. Scott currently serves as assistant director for the Multimodal Planning Division. He oversees ADOTs development of multimodal plans and programs through a collaborative process. He also oversees ADOTs research activity, which enables innovation in transportation. Scott's background and experience include work in transportation planning, programming, project management, traffic, project development and operations. Scott first joined the ADOT Yuma District in February 1993 and was assigned to Regional Traffic. He spent over 13 years there, working in traffic, development and operations. In 2006, Scott left ADOT to work for the city of Yuma as a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) project manager. In 2007, he became a senior project manager, was the Western Region project manager for Building a Quality Arizona (bqAZ) and the program manager for local government ARRA projects in the Eastern MAG Region. In 2010, Scott returned to ADOT as the assistant director for the Planning and Programming Group in the Multimodal Planning Division. Scott is certified as a professional transportation planner (PTP) and a certified public manager (CPM).
