1.) What’s the significance in learning this Transportation Engg. reflecting it to our present Crisis of our
Country right now? & explain...(15pts.)

Transportation has always been important in the evolution of society, initially in terms of trade
routes and harbors, but more recently in terms of land- and air-based systems. The transportation
engineer's job is to plan, design, develop, run, and maintain these transportation networks in such a way
that people and commodities can travel safely, efficiently, and conveniently. Growing environmental
concerns have reignited interest in public transportation system development and administration.
Professional operations might include everything from urban road and transit design and operation to
railroad, seaport, and airport location, construction, and maintenance.

The Importance of transportation engineering is Increasing environmental concerns have

revived an interest in the development and management of public transportation systems. Professional
activities can range from road and transit design and operation at the urban scale, to railroad, seaway
and airport location, construction and operation at the regional and national scale. Transportation
engineering in North America focuses on automobile infrastructures, although it also encompasses sea,
air and rail systems.

2.) What’s the distinction between Transportation Engg. to Civil Engg.? & explain...(15pts.)

Civil transportation engineers and civil engineers do similar tasks in that they both use design
tools to analyze schematics to ensure that projects are compliant with regulations and satisfy customer
requirements. Civil engineers are generalists who plan and design facility construction as well as building
and overall infrastructure maintenance. Civil engineers can specialize in a variety of fields, one of which
is transportation engineering. The engineering of transportation systems such as highways, bridges,
traffic systems, airports, and runways is the core of this expertise.

3.) What are those first means of Transport or Transportation during the primitive period? & explain
briefly...(20pts.)

The first form of transport on land was, of course, WALKING! Then the following progressed to:

➢ Animals- Before people started to use wagons and carts, they would put big logs under goods
they wanted to move, and roll the logs along the ground. But that was still a lot of work and
probably not that easy. So they invented small vehicles with two or four wheels, which could be
pulled along by people or animals.
