First of all, I would like to welcome you to the Pre-Pagkakaisa 2015:
Tambisan. Samahan. Hakdawan. Natatanging Pederasyon para sa
Pamantasan at Sambayanan. As John Buchan once said the task of leadership is not to put greatness into people, but to elicit it, for the greatness is there already. Young student leaders, you are here today not only to exhibit the inherent greatness in you. Rather, you are here to hone your skills and learn significant values that can mold you into becoming exemplary leaders. I believe that as student leaders, you can make a difference. I hope that your desire for the betterment of the student body and the university will prosper as you begin to make change happen. And as you serve your constituents, I encourage you to share your vision and wisdom with them and inspire them more with your commitment and dedication to serve. As leaders, you are expected to show strength, courage, and confidence despite personal dilemmas and academic pressures. With proper mindset and time management, it can be done. Remember also that as leaders, part of your job is to show appreciation and celebrate small victories with your constituents. Show them that you are one of them and that you value their cooperation. These positive traits and attitudes are among the keys to an effective leadership. I am looking forward to a valuable and successful dialogue and consultation with you for the furtherance of our goals and for the improvement of the student body and the promotion of camaraderie, dedication, and service. I hope that you gain unforgettable experiences and may your stay here be worthwhile. Sincerely, Ester B. Ogena, Ph.D. President
