1 grade is

In English, first grade students

will identify pronouns as words
that take the place of nouns. We
will also practice using pronouns in
sentences.
Students will also write sentences
using their spelling words.
In spelling and phonics, we will
identify and write oi and oy
words. This is the sound you hear in
soil and boy. Our Spelling test is on
Friday.
In Reading, we will read Simple
Machines. Our Reading Word and
comprehension test will be Friday.
In Math, students will work with
fractions.
In Science, we will identify types
of simple machines and the ways we
use them in our daily lives.
