MATH

READING & WRITING

In math we have finished unit 11,

Three-digit Addition and Subtraction.
We finished the last few lessons this
week and took the unit test just in time
for vacation.
We are working on our subtraction
facts. This week we are working on
halves. We have reviewed our doubles
and learned that halves are the
opposite of doubles.

ENJOY!

In reading groups we have been working

on blends spr, str and scr. Our
vocabulary words are demand,
emergency, furious, impatient, sincerely
and snoop. We are reading fantasy
stories about sheep and chickens.
In writing, we have been writing about
different topics each day. We wrote
about our siblings, what we would do
with three wishes, a planet we would like
to live on and their favorite toy. Each
time we used our writing rubric as a
reference.

Science & Social Studies

Our research projects are fully underway. Your
child has selected an animal to research
thoroughly. They are part of a team that works
together to answer a series of questions. For
the next two weeks they will be working on a
home project to make a shadow box that
displays their animals habitat. More
information was sent home on Wednesday.
