To discuss the different customs from Africa that involve music.

We will be talking about how the people of Africa use their music
and what it sounds like.

Learning activities (step-by-step):

-Present the videos and information off the presentation to the


students

These should be complete enough


that a good substitute could study
them and teach this class.

-This lesson will start off the African portion of my unit. The
country, people, and cultures will be introduced. We will talk about
instruments and customs that have to do with their music.
- We will discuss how music is used to preserve these different
cultures and traditions.

African music is not only music with drums but a lot of it is


singing without drums.
