Dear Colleague:
It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Caroline Peterson. Caroline is a May, 2015graduate of St.
Catherine University in St. Paul, MN, with a Second Major Certificate in Interpreting.
As a faculty member in the ASL & Interpreting Department at St. Kates, I have had the pleasure of working with
Caroline in a variety of ways. Caroline was a student in the Ethics and Decision Making course I teach. I have also
served as her academic advisor, and her internship advisor during that part of her education. I believe Caroline possesses
the skill set, work ethic and personality to make valuable contributions to, and learn from, any employment opportunity
she pursues.
During her time at St. Kates, Caroline has consistently proven herself as a strong student, completing all assignments in a
thoughtful, timely manner. As a Second Major Certificate student, Caroline started the interpreting program having
completed a Bachelor of Arts degree, which meant she approached her studies here as an experienced, mature student.
This served her well as she addressed her interpreter education in a calm, thoughtful manner, taking each challenge
seriously and committing the energy needed to complete her work. I have been impressed by Carolines work ethic,
flexibility, calm approach and the quality of her work.
From January March, 2015, Caroline completed an internship at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. During this experience,
Caroline worked with a talented team of interpreters and in her typical fashion, took full advantage of every minute of the
experience. In addition to her excellent interpreting work, Carolines thoughtful analysis of the work and challenges
presented in the environment made for an outstanding learning opportunity for her.
I believe Caroline has a great deal to offer the interpreting profession. She has a strong work ethic, is honest, responsible
and committed to completing quality work. She is a pleasure to work with and I have no doubt she will bring these skills,
and many more, to any employment opportunity she pursues.
