Question: Explain: Course as a whole

This is a good course.
Question: Explain: Effectiveness of teacher
Maxwell Mrs. Maxwell is a very effective and great instructor.
Question: Explain: Interpersonal Relationships
Maxwell She is very approachable and willing to help
Question: Explain evaluation methods:
Maxwell Fair evaluation methods
Question: Explain: University facilities
I really appreciated her addressing the noise level- made learning much easier!
Facilities were conducive to learning!
Question: Strengths of the course
The fact that it was online and classroom instruction
Mix of in person and online meetings. Trust in the student to know what to do and to reach out when needed.
Translating literacy development into cross-disciplinary settings. I have more concrete strategies for my non-ELA classes The online modules as alternatives to
being physically in one place were a nice element of this course.
Question: Weaknesses of the course
The days and time when offered.
It was sometimes hard to know what the goal of each in person meeting was.
I would have liked to have a summary document that captured the major strategies in a single place. I feel like I was exposed to a lot of ideas but they're not in
one place for reference. Efficiency. I think we could've gotten through the classes at Lipscomb in
Question: Would like my instructor to know
She is an excellent instructor.
Excellent work! I truly enjoyed this class!
Question: My favorite class session was...because..
My favorite was having to read an article and write a reflection about it in lieu of going to class.
When we got pizza...I'm just saying!
Question: Most beneficial assignment was...because..
Teaching a comprehension strategy to some of my classmates
I liked the strategy assignment and presentations in small groups.
The unit plan. I was able to use it in my classroom.
The unit plan, though it took a very long time, was really useful in doing the actual practice of planning and implementing cross-disciplinary literacy
development.
Question: Least beneficial assignment was...because..
There aren't any least beneficial is the field experience and annotated bibliography
Annotated bibliography- I was hazy on the point of this assignment.
Question: Would change..
This course to all online for convenience of students that are in the classroom teaching and working to complete graduate degree.
More class discussions.
I wasn't 100% sure of the purpose of the read-alouds each time. If it was to demonstrate specific strategies that can be done in a read-aloud I again would have
liked to have a list of these or maybe a follow along guide that guides my observations of the read aloud to help internalize its purpose and strategies.
Question: Would not change..
The length of time to complete the class.
