CHAPTER III

RESEARCH AND METHODOLOGY

This chapter details out the research methodology for the present study. It explains the
research objectives and a suitable methodology to achieve those objectives. The
objectives of the study were to Increase the awareness of seat belt safety, usage of
seatbelt to prevent accident.
The things were going to consider in the study were listed below:

1. Starter Motor
is an electric motor, pneumatic motor, hydraulic motor, an internal-combustion
engine in case of very large engines or other device used for rotating an internalcombustion engine so as to initiate the engine's operation under its own power.

2. Starter Relay
Is the part of an automobile which switches a large electric current to the starter
motor, in response to a small control current, and which in turn sets the engine in
motion. Its function is thus identical to that of a transistor, but using an
electromagnetic solenoid rather than semiconductor to perform the switching. In
many vehicles the solenoid also engages the starter pinion with the ring gear of
the engine.

3. Ignition Switch
Is a switch in the control system of an internal combustion engine motor vehicle that
activates the main electrical systems for the vehicle. Besides providing power to
the starter solenoid and the ignition system component including the engine control
unit and ignition coil. It also usually switches on power to many accessories. The
ignition switch usually requires a key be inserted that works a lock built into
the switch mechanism. It is frequently combined with the starter switch which
activates the starter motor. The ignition locking system may be bypassed by
disconnecting the wiring to the switch and manipulating it directly; this is known
as hotwiring.

4. Battery (12V, 7.2 Amperes)

A 12V, 7.2 Ampere power supply. It is used to run the starter motor.

5. Seatbelt
is a vehicle safety device designed to secure the occupant of a vehicle against
harmful movement that may result during a collision or a sudden stop. A seat belt
functions to reduce the likelihood of death or serious injury in a traffic collision by
reducing the force of secondary impacts with interior strike hazards.
