The setting values and press degree numbers listed are engineering values. As the press
gets older and wears, some of the values can change without affecting press function.
Proper press function is more important than exactly maintaining these values.
But still the values given should be maintained as far as possible.

Transfer settings
The transfer length for the impression cylinder
and Transferter cams is:

6 mm up to series 729

8 mm from series 730 onwards

Paper in the gripper at frontlay zero position


= 6 mm. (middle possition)
Gripper margin adjustable from 5 7 mm..

Gripper settings
Swing gripper
Before making any adjustments, the press
must be secured to prevent it turning.

Position the press at 22.

Loosen the lockscrew.

Turn the setting screw (setting position) to:


0.6 (up to series 715)
0.8 (from series 716 onwards)

Loosen gripper contact to the gripper pad

Set the grippers.

Move the graduated collar back to


0 (up to series 715)
0.2 (from series 716 onwards)

Check that the transfer distance = 1.5 mm to


the middle of transfer.

Center of transfer is 78.

Gripper pretensioning is 18 N.

With this pretensioning, the setting screw


protrudes 2 threads out of the gripper
housing.

Infeed drum gripper

Position the press at 356.

Turn the scale to 0.2.

Insert a 1 mm feeler gauge between cam and


roller lever.

Loosen gripper contact to the gripper pad

Set the grippers.

Gripper pretensioning: 48 N = 2.5 mm


distance between clamp ring and housing.

Check that the transfer distance = 1.5 mm to


the middle of transfer.

Center of transfer is 220.

Pretensioning of the torsion bar spring:


55 Nm.

Impression cylinder grippers

Loosen the cam follower fastening nut.

Turn the cam follower to the "setting"


position.(low position)

Tighten the fastening nut.

Loosen gripper contact to the gripper pad

Set the grippers with 0.03 mm Japan paper.

Turn the cam follower back to working


position. (high position)

Lock the cam follower fastening nut.

Repeat the setting procedure with the second


gripper shaft.

Gripper pretensioning: 90 N = 5 mm distance


between clamp ring and housing.

Check that the transfer distance = 3 mm up


series 730 4 mm to the middle of transfer.

Pretensioning of the torsion bar spring:


65 - 70 Nm

Transferter

Set the scale to 0.2.

Place the Transferter in a vertical position.

Pinch a 17.3 mm setting gauge between the


cam and roller lever.

Loosen gripper contact to the gripper pad

Set the grippers with 0.03 mm Japan paper.

Gripper pretensioning: 2 mm between clamp


ring and housing.

Check that the transfer distance = 3 mm up


series 730 4 mm to the middle of transfer.

Pretensioning of the torsion bar spring: 55 60 Nm.

Delivery gripper systems

Place an 0.2 mm feeler gauge underneath


the stop of the delivery system.

Loosen gripper contact to the gripper pads.

Set the grippers with an 0.03 mm feeler


gauge.

Remove the 0.2 mm feeler gauge.

Pretensioning of the torsion bar spring:


10 Nm.
