Guilli-danda (Tipcat)

Materials/equipment: : two
Space: Anywhere
pieces of equipment: a danda (long
wooden stick) and a guilli (small ovalshaped piece of wood)
Number of participants: No
specific number of players

Duration: 50 min

Task description:
The player has to shoot, be placed in a circle, put the guilli on
the floor. The player takes the danda to strike one end of the
guilli and raise, once in the air it again to launch the guilli hit as
far as possible. Guilli time that is in the air , the player must run
and touch a point previously agreed and return to circle before
another player take the guilli .

Norms/rules:
If any player gets into the air the guilli , the pitcher is out of the
game .
The pitcher has three attempts, if failure is out of the game.
Once the gilli is in the air, players from the other team can go
running to the circle to block his path to which it has launched.
For each round, a point will be added.
The team with the most point wins the game.

Alternatives:
Sometimes the number of points obtained in one round is scored
based on the distance that has thrown the guilli.

INTRODUCTION

Guilli - Danda is a sport that is recovered from the rural areas


and small across Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Afghanistan and
Pakistan, as well as Cambodia and Italy.
These sports possibly have originated in India more than 2500
years ago. It is believed to be the origin of the games like
cricket, baseball and softball.
This game is also known by other names: Tipcar , Dandi - Biyo ,
Alak - Doulak , Karra - Billa , Lappa - Duggi ... .
