Position: Web application developer

Start date: September 2015 (pending final approval of funding)


Location: Clare Nova Scotia
Term: 6 months (with the possibility of extension)

business growth strategies. We specialize in helping businesses identify opportunities to leverage core
competencies, develop new products and services, and sell into new markets. At StraTigro Business

us to share our knowledge and expertise while at the same time allowing the client to develop new skills
and capabilities.
Project Description
The candidate will be responsible for developing easy to use web based applications to automate
Stratigros data collection, analysis, and client reporting processes.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in information technology with a focus on web application
development
Be eligible for IRAPs Youth Employment Program (http://www.nrccnrc.gc.ca/eng/irap/services/youth_initiatives.html)
Required skills:
Ability to:
Develop and deploy web-based applications using modern technologies (Django/Python, HTML,
CSS, AWS, Azure) and we welcome individuals who can demonstrate other programming
language knowledge
Select required technologies and lead the design and development efforts
Communicate the following to management: project timelines, milestones, issues, general
progress reports
Work independently, at times, unsupervised

Responsibilities include:
Work closely with management to ensure timely completion of key deliverables
Establish detailed program specifications through team discussions
Take charge on the project and act as lead architect as well as lead developer

Breaking down program specifications into its simplest elements and translating the logic into a
programming language
Web user interface design
Test sample data sets to check that output from the program(s) works as intended
React to problems and correct the program(s) as necessary
Adapting the program to new requirements as necessary
Conduct user acceptance testing to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly, and
accurately
Write detailed documentation for operation of the program
