DevOps Engineer

Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

- Conducts ongoing administration of data layer, application and infrastructure including proposing
application systems changes, better uses and enhancements.
- Manages availability, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for data and application
layers using a variety of toolsets.
- Supports with improving the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design, through
deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Supports services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting,
developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
- Maintains services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall
system health.
- Delivers sustainable incident response.
- Writes highly optimized code for LSEG products and solutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or


equivalent
- Previous experience in software development in one or more programming languages

Senior Dev-Ops Engineer
Senior Dev-Ops Engineer to join the existing DPG Margin Analytics team and help in the build out of
the next generation Margin Analytics Toolset for the DPG Margin Analytics Team. This exciting
opportunity requires a candidate with excellent technical skills, and a wish to play a critical role in
growing a new business.
Key responsibilities:
· Design, Develop and maintain the components for DPG Margin Analytics applications.
· Help the team in defining the solutions to meet the various scalability and high availability
requirements defined by the business.
· Support complex application stacks (AWS Anthos/Kubernetes) across multiple cloud
environments.
· Automate the deployment of Cloud based resources to ensure high availability, performance,
scalability and security.
· Provide insight and guidance across LCH towards the development of future and current Dev-Ops
practices.
· Excellent understanding of CI/CD methodologies with good hands-on experience.
· Enable the team through implementation of deployment pipelines and deployment strategy from
development to production in a cloud-based environments.
· Take ownership of the delivery strategy and collaborate with other teams (technology, support, and
engineering) to get the product suite designed and deployed through the different environments.
· Support the development team in defining their processes, running proof of concepts, using best
practices, and selecting best fit solutions.
Experience and skills required:
· About 5 years of strong hands-on experience in AWS Cloud based applications.
· Solid understanding of IaC principles
· Good hands-on experience using Terraform to build AWS Infrastructure and components.
· Extensive experience in developing/managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Gitlab.
· Experience with Container technologies and tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm etc
· Experience using code analysis and security tools such as Coverity and Black duck.
· Experience with scripting languages such as groovy, bash or python.
· Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog etc.
· Experience working in teams delivering to an Agile delivery schedule.

Senior DevOps Cloud Engineer- AWS

The role is for a Senior DevOps Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for the development and
operational aspects of our AWS infrastructure, work with developers to ensure that applications are
deployed and operated in the cloud environment. 
The role will also consist of improving the integration of the project functions and resources across
the life cycle. 
The Market Data platform
 is used in LCH to manage and maintain most of the instrument market data and reference data used
within the organization. 
 The Market Data platform is part of the shared services area so gets exposure to many business areas
and instruments, and as well as being a shared service, it is a critical service for the business lines to
function.
The team
 has recently moved towards a more Agile way of working and is adapting more core Agile principles,
so the team is mostly made up of squads. 
 The squads are typically made up of QA testing skills, QA automation development skills, software
development skills, Business analyst skills, and DevOps skills. 
The base product
 is based off Alveotech (formally Asset Control), which is a third-party application. 
 The core application is built using the core Alveotech functionality as well as Perl, Python, shell script
and Java. 
 A scheduler is also used to drive some of the core processes, using Control-m, which is a third-party
application. 
 The application uses MQ and REST API services to integrate with the business lines.
The application is nearing its end of the AWS migration journey so is using other more Cloud based
technologies such as Terraform, Packer and AWS technologies.
Key responsibilities:
 Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
 Setting up tools and required infrastructure
 Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
 Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
 Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the code bugs
 Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and updating or creating new
processes for improvement and minimizing the wastage
 Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
 Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability
assessment and risk management
 Coordination and communication within the team
 Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools
 Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and
constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
 Mentoring and guiding the team members 
 Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs
 Designing and implementing DevOps solutions on AWS
 Monitoring system performance and capacity utilization
Essential experience and skills:
 3 + years experience working as a DevOps Cloud Engineer (or similar)
 Experience working with Scripting languages
 Experience working with AWS and Terraform
 Experience working in scrum methods (Agile)
 Experience working with Automation tools such as Jenkins and Ansible
 Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
 Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps
Desired experience and skills:
 Experience working in scrum methods (Agile) and Agile principles
 Experience working with Packer, Docker
