Preparation for Discernment Process

To inform the process for planning for the future of Giving Voice, we ask members to reflect on
the following questions:

1. What do you consider to be the emerging needs of younger women religious?
2. How might the future of GV resonate with the emerging needs of younger women religious?
3. Considering the future of GV, what 3 hopes do you have for GV and the younger women
religious it serves?
a. What is needed in order to fulfill those hopes?

For those so inclined, GV members are invited to read (re-read) New Generations of Catholic Sisters by
Mary Johnson, S.N.D.de N, Patricia Wittberg, SC and Mary L. Gaudier and reflect on the question:
a. In what ways does the information by these authors impact the future of GV?


All GV members are invited to share their thoughts regarding these discernment questions via the GV
Facebook site in preparation for the August 2015 Conference.

Plante Moran consultants will be present at the August 2015 Conference to engage the participants in
an overview of the entire planning process and the initial stages of the discernment process, in
particular.

The discernment process will continue via Skype calls with a diverse representation of GV members
between September 2015 and December 2015. The fruit of this discernment process will be shared with
the GV membership electronically.
