PR Plan for 2017

I.

Organizational Overview
Girls on the Run is a program for 3rd-8th grade girls that is focused on
teaching and encouraging positive self-esteem, self-worth and
overall healthy lifestyles. Over 10-weeks, team members train for
an end of season 5k, participate in community service and grow in
confidence and create lifelong friendships.

II.

Plans for Growth?

Each state has a Girls on the Run chapter, but we plan to increase
the amount of chapters in each state and diversify the areas in each
state where chapters exist.

III.

Objectives
We plan to increase Girls on the Run chapters in inner-city areas and
increase overall awareness of Girls on the Run nationwide.

IV.

Audiences
a. Elementary and middle school moms that would have daughters
that are eligible for Girls on the Run.
b. Elementary and middle school girls that could benefit from Girls
on the Run. Specifically, girls who may have low self-esteem or
negative body image and could gain knowledge and grow from
GOTR lessons.

Strategies & Tactics

a. Social Media Campaigns
Gain National awareness by starting local and national
social media campaigns. Nationally, GOTR can begin
campaigns that support their mission by encouraging
people to share stories about self-worth. Locally, chapters
can share their own success stories and start hashtags
that gain local attention.
b. Media Relations
Notify local media of GOTR end-of-season races and
chapter community service projects. By gaining media
attention itll will directly affect awareness and begin the
possibilities to spread chapters.
c. Events
Plan events that share the mission of GOTR in areas
where chapters do not yet exist. By planning events that
spread messages of healthy lifestyles and confidence in
young girls, we can spread the mission of GOTR and
spread chapters across states.
Conclusion
By doing these things, GOTR will increase awareness and become
well-known across the nation. By gaining awareness, were able to
increase the amount of GOTR chapters. When it comes to starting
more chapters and planning events in new areas, we will be able to
start chapters in areas that currently do not have them.
