Emergency Drill Practice
I conducted a _Fire_________ drill on _____5/25__________.
How did the students in the class respond to you taking charge of the drill?
The children were well practiced in fire drills and did not need much guidance on
what to do during the fire drill. I was in a classroom with children with special
needs so the main disturbance was how loud the alarm was, which bothered the
children who are sensitive to noise.
What would you do differently next time?
I noticed that once outside and away from the loud alarm, the children were
much more goofy and did not wait in silence, one almost ran to the playground.
Next time, I would emphasize the importance of waiting a safe distance from the
school, and I would emphasize this importance before the next fire drill so that it
does not occur again.
