    Beginning Wheel Throwing

    Unit5:Bowls
    Reminders:
    You MUST have a leather hard form in order to trim a foot onto your bowl.
    Trimming is a process done on the wheel.

    Assignment: 4 Bowls
    Grading Requirements:
    Use 1 to 2 pounds of clay, stay with an amount you are comfortable with
    Create 2 simple shaped bowl forms
    Create 2 more complex shaped bowl forms
    altered rim design
    slip design
    Show growth in control, method and design
    Do not forget the finishing details
    Trimming should be a continuation of the shape with a consistent thickness

    Due Dates:
    Bowls 1 & 2
    Altered Bowls 3 & 4
    Open Studio Notice:
    The ceramic studio is open to enrolled students daily at
    7:10am, during all lunch periods (upon instuctor
    approval) and after school during Wheel Throwing Club.
    Please check with Ms. Ebsen & Ms. Carrow about
    additional after school opportunities.
