I went to school for Horticulture. I learned hands on gardening and landscape

design, including how to identify pests, weeds, diseases, and how to fertilize
plants.
In Horticulture I did learn a lot about answering questions or researching to
find the answers myself when I would volunteer to work in the department's
nursery.
Also, with landscape design, you must interview your client to learn what it is
they desire, and what problems they face with their landscape. It also
requires a lot of follow up, customer service, research, portfolio skills, and
communication.
As far as dancing goes, it helps me to think. When I have writer's block
especially I find listening to music and dancing helps me to think it out.
I was also in a Burlesque troupe that allowed me to let go of my insecurities
of being in front of a crowd/from being in this group I learned about
compromise in the business, democracy, managing a business, managing
money, marketing, social media, modeling, how to take constructive criticism,
and self empowerment.
