The Periodic Table

NOAH ROBERTS

What is the periodic table?

The

periodic table is a tabular

arrangement of the chemical elements,
organized on the bases of their atomic
number (number of protons in the
nucleus), electron configurations, and
recurring chemical properties.

Who created it?

The

creator of the periodic table is

Dmitri Mendeleev

He

was born in Tobolsk, Russia

He

created the table in 1869

Grouping of the table

The

periodic table is composed of 10

separate groups; Metalloids, other nonmetals,
halogens, noble gases, alkali metals, alkaline
earth metals, lanthanoids, actinoids,
transition metals, and post-transition metals.

It

is also separated into solids, liquids, gasses,

and unknown

Solids, Liquids, and Gasses

solid is something that is firm and stable in shape

A liquid is something that flows freely, but still has a

constant volume

A gas is an air-like substance that expands freely to

fill any space available.

Forms of the table

The periodic table comes in many different forms,

such as:

Fun facts
There

are 90 elements on the periodic table that

occur in nature

Technetium

was the first element to be made

artificially
The

rows of the periodic table are called periods

Different

element atoms have protons, neutrons,

and electrons
