This Weeks Focus

Language Arts

We are continuing to build our reading stamina,

as well as introduce Work on Writing, the
second component of the Daily 5. We will also
begin using our CAF literacy board to learn
different strategies to use while reading.
Throughout the year, we will be using the 6
Traits of Writing to improve our writing. We will

It is a requirement in grade 3 to wear
an ASA shirt on PE days (Tuesday and
Wednesday). Please purchase them in
the office if you have not done so
already.

Math
We will be reviewing equivalent numbers,
probability, practice with number grids, as well as
create pictographs to continue our review from
previous grades.

Unity of Inquiry (UOI)

Cultural Picnic

Since beginning our UOI, many students

have expressed interest in sharing an

aspect of their culture. On Friday, we

will be having a cultural picnic. I ask that
you send a food item from your culture
to share with the class. Everyone is
excited to try different cuisines!

Many students are eager to share a part of

their culture, whether it is a game or a dance.
Throughout the week, students will have the
chance to teach or show the class a part of
their culture. We will also be learning about our
rights and responsibilities. We will be comparing
childrens responsibilities around the world to our
own responsibilities.
