Shape and Value

In photography shape is used to create


space and interest in the photograph.
It can be natural or man made, 2D or
3D. All give different effects. For
example a cube can create depth with
its faces casting shadows.

In photography value is the brightness


or darkness of a picture. High value =
light colours, low value = dark colours.
If photographs have lots of high and
low lights then it can give a dramatic
effect, making the photograph look 3D
and better composed.
