October-November 2009 The days are growing shorter and the nights are growing cooler – Autumn is
here. The season of holidays, family, food – and GRATITUDE.

Gratitude is a quality I have found in every happy person I know. In the Book of
Mormon, Amulek teaches that you should remember to
“ … Live in Thanksgiving daily…” Alma 34:38.
It is a habit that will enrich your life and the lives of those you love.

Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin suggests three things that will help as we strive to live
in thanksgiving daily. “‘Live in Thanksgiving Daily’,” Ensign, Sep 2001, pg 6
1. We must open our eyes and see the wonders and beauties of this world, and
give thanks.
2. We must open our hearts, filling our souls with love, faith, and thanksgiving.
3. We must open our arms, blessing the lives of those around us.

B. Hinckley has said: “My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy
more fully the sunlight. “

Choice blessings await those who live in thanksgiving daily. We testify to you
that as you look for the good in all things and give thanks to your Heavenly
Father, more good will follow, your life will be blessed and you will know joy.
