FABRICATION OF AUTOMATIC DRILLING OPERATION IN

A CONVEYOR SYSTEM
SYNOPSIS
In our project , FABRICATION OF AUTOMATIC

DRILLING

OPERATION IN A CONVEYOR SYSTEM the job is feeded in the belt


conveyor system and stopped at the drilling station. At this junction the
job is clamped by pneumatic cylinder. After clamping , the job is drilled
by a portable hand drilling which is mounted in vertical slide.
This vertical slide mechanism is moved by the rotation of DC
motor which is coupled to the lead screw and nut mechanism. After
the drilling , the job is moved by the conveyor. The whole operation is
controlled automatically by the microcontroller based control system .
The depth of drilling can be varied by adjusting the limit switch
which is fixed in the guide rod for vertical slide. The double acting
cylinder is actuated by the 5/2 way solenoid operated directional
control valve.
