Bronte School

Headmasters Newsletter 50
23 October 2015
Time simply ran away when this morning I
started on minor tweaks needed to convert
my locks to an Elvis look-alike, but while my
own top remained unchanged, there were
some completely splendid, totally weird
and wonderful creations walking through
the gates for Brontes annual Bad Hair Day.

Parents Meetings
It was a week of evening parents events.
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings were
devoted to parents meetings with class
teachers , and on Thursday Year 4 and 5
parents gathered for a briefing and Q & A
session with Mrs Wood about Life After
Bronte - the pathway to senior school.
Year 1 & Year 2 London Aquarium Trip
Years 1 and 2 had a fishy day on Monday, as
they journeyed to Londons South Bank for
a visit to the London Aquarium. Many
thanks to Mrs Russell, Mrs Dhariwal, Mrs
Kaur, Ms Shand and Mrs Lockyer for
accompanying the staff for the encounters
with all sorts of marine life.

Bronte Art
The creations reflected the artistic talents
of our children (and maybe just a little bit
of parents too!) and these are also
demonstrated in a wonderful range of art
works being undertaken by Mrs Brittons
Year 4 classes.

Last Friday all pupils in Years 3, 4, 5, 6 took

part in a multi skills house competition,
this included activities that tested speed,
accuracy and a variety of sports skills.
When all the scores were added together,
Hood had 1763 points and Nelson 1672
points - Hood won by just 91points! Well
done to everyone who took part.

Its Good to be Green

The second Green Tea Party was for Year
6, and those with unblemished records
gathered on Tuesday for green cakes. A
special thanks to Miss Sutherland for
baking and creating the green cakes.
