There are a lot of activities that can be done with a finch robot. This is something very exciting that I am glad that your
kids get to do. Here are just a few things that we will be doing in the different subject areas

Science
Process Standard 7: Engineering Design - Engineering design can be defined as the creative process
of turning abstract ideas into a physical prototype (laboratory apparatus, trial product, model) that
addresses a need or solves a problem. In order for engineering design to occur, students must have
the opportunity to identify a need or problem, establish design criteria, prepare preliminary designs,
build then test a prototype, and test and redesign as necessary. With this objective the students will
build an obstical course and then have the students program it so it can go through the course.

Math
Standard 4:Measurement The student will use measurement to solve problems in a variety of
contexts. Using the multiple types of measuring we will use this to for math projects. Based not just
on the distants but based on all the other sensors. With these the students will make different
graphs and learn how to measure all these values. With this we will be able to all sorts of really cool
things with making graphs and tables and being to create our own problems and be able to solve
them.

Social Studies
Geography Literacy Content Standard 3: The student will demonstrate knowledge of basic
geographic concepts. 3. Locate on a map and globe the United States, the seven continents, and
five oceans. The students will be program the robots to go to the different continents and the
students will name them when they drive there.

Standard 1: Writing Process. The student will use the writing process to write coherently. Based on
this standard the students will write a story either about where the robot came from, what all can
be done with this robot, or what all this is capable of doing.

Music
Standard 1: Language of Music - The student will read, notate and interpret music. Identify and
define the meaning of symbols for pitch, rhythm, dynamics, tempo, articulation (e.g. staccato,
legato, marcato, accent) and expression (phrasing) found in a musical score. We are using the robot
to not just play the different notes but we are using it to put pausing inbetween them and to play
songs and make them sound correct.
