Studio Policy

Attendance: Lessons begin the first week of September and continue throughout the
12 week semester. Spring semester begins the first week of February. Holidays are
taken into account. Students are required to attend each lesson with music and
materials prepared.
Make up lessons: Lessons can be made up due to other activities, school functions
and illness. Please give the teacher at least a one day notice. For vacations, please
notify teacher with as much time as possible.
Recitals: Each student is required to participate in the Fall and/or Spring recital at the
end of the semester. Pieces chosen are to be memorized.
Practice: Students are required/ suggested to practice at least 5 days per week. Length
of each practice session varies on students level. It is recommended to practice in a
quiet setting with minimal distractions.
Tuition & Payment: Tuition can be paid in cash or checks per month. Unexcused
lessons are not refundable. Paid lessons can roll over and months can be paid in
advanced. Students must purchase required materials or pay for them if the teacher
buys them. Payment is made at the first lesson of each month.
Lesson Termination: Students may be subject to discontinue lessons at the end of the
semester if unexcused absences accumulate or if the student has a number of
unprepared lessons.
Parent Participation: Parents are encouraged to attend one lesson per month for
younger students and all recitals and performance opportunities if possible. It is
recommended to encourage students practice by simply listening or asking to hear
something.
Office Hours: Teacher may be unable to discuss students progress at request. Please
call and make an appointment to discuss the students progress. The most convenient
time is in the afternoon after 3 pm.
