short story.
The student will value the process of brainstorming and understand its
importance in the writing process.
The student will feel confident operating linoit.
The student will be able to operate linoit and utilize this tool to brainstorm for
his/her story.

Before-class preparation:
Ensure that linoit is downloaded or available to each student on his or
her device.

Ongoing assessment(s): The teacher can watch online or walk around and
interact with students as they brainstorm for their stories

Accommodations and extensions: Extend by making a still shot movie


complete with illustration/pictures instead of just using linoit for a brainstorming
board. Learning disabilities and ELL students can try using real sticky notes or
mind maps instead. This can also be a group project that partners or groups work
together online on the same linoit account.

Backup plan: Use real sticky notes that students can put on a poster board or
their desk.
