Argument evaluation sheet- students will


write an argument for what mascot they
think is best. The evaluation sheet asks
how confident they are about
constructing persuasive arguments.

*Take home connection sheet- this is an


outline for the persuasive essay. This
assesses their knowledge and helps
them form their essay.

SWBAT use persuasive language to make


an argument

will be assessed on their ability to write a
persuasive essay with given a prompt.

**Secret ballots:
One will be given out at the
beginning of this lesson
Second one will be given out at
the end

*We split up the take home assignment into two separate homework assignment.
The assignment seemed to long and was more useful when split up into two
assessments.
**We also changed the secret ballet assessment into two secret ballots. The first
one will be given at the beginning of the lesson. After the students have done their
assignments, another secret ballot will be handed out and counted for comparison.
