As many of you are aware, we have been at the hospital with
DJ since Easter Sunday. Nonetheless, we still wanted to put
together a mini newsletter and dedicate it to DJ.

page and for her support. We are so blessed to have
received your generous donations and the outpouring of
love and support is overwhelming. Please sign up on the
link to receive updates on his progress. DJ is an amazing
young man that has incredible will and strength and we
know he will continue to get stronger during his
rehabilitation.
3/30 Morning update- DJ Lombardo, as a lot of you know is
the son of Joe Lombardo, horse trainer, coach and FEI
course designer and Kathy Spano, respected Temecula
school teacher. He is also the brother of trainer/coach
Breanna Lombardo of Temecula. On Easter Sunday, DJ
went dirt bike riding with his friends and step brothers, a
sport he is well acquainted with, as it's been a passion of
his his whole life. Toward the end of his ride, he had an
accident with his motorcycle that resulted in a catastrophic
injury to his spine and spinal cord. DJ was airlifted to
Palomar Medical Center in Escondido where his family
rushed to his side. His mother and stepfather were in
Hawaii celebrating their anniversary when they received the
news and, flew home as soon as they could. The original
prognosis was grim. DJ would live but quite possibly would
not walk again. His family refused to accept this and
insisted on a second opinion, which they got. The second
prognosis was better but still scary as hell. He also works
ring crew at horse shows on the weekends. He gives
everything he does 100%. He is always well presented,
positive and polite. If anyone deserves some help in their
time of need, it is this young man and his family. Thank you
to all of you, in advance for your generosity.

riders before. We

progress and are
excited to see you in
the show ring soon.

Spring Break
We would like to give a big thank you to all of the Spring Break campers and their families. We really enjoyed meeting everyone and
were excited to work with such a great group of kids.
We hope you will return for our Summer Camp
beginning in June. We would like to give a special
mention to our regular lesson students Dakota, Kendall
and Rishi. They really pushed themselves by going
outside of their comfort zones and riding horses and
ponies they've never ridden before. It is a compliment
and opportunity to advance when a trainer gives you
the option to ride a new lesson horse or pony. Each
horse and pony has something to teach us and we hope
you gained conaidence in the experience. We would
also like to thank campers, Victoria and Kate, who
showed our more seasoned riders how to ride off their
leg. We were really impressed!
Thank you to our instructors, Summer & Erin for their
hard work and for keeping things so organized. Last
but not least, a HUGE Thank You to all of our
helperswe couldn't have done it without you.
