BO = A0 + A1T + ( B0 + B1T )P
GOR = D0 + D1T + ( E0 + E1T )P
Pb = C0 + C1T
GOR max = D0 + D1T + ( E0 + E1T )Pb

A0, A1, B 0, B 1, C0, C1, D0, D1, E0, E1, F0, F1, G0, G1 are entered to the flow computer by using the Topside program,
selecting Fluid and PVT data.

Shrinkage factor oil

The volume of the oil will shrink as the oil is depressurized. This is due to degassing of the oil. The
lighter carbon components in the oil will transfer into the gas phase.
The shrinkage factor will change from one field to another and will also be dependent upon the
pressure at actual conditions.

Shrinkage factor water

The shrinkage factor for water is assumed to be 1.0 for all practical purposes.
Compressibility of gas
The gas is compressed according to the ideal gas law and a gas compressibility factor Z, which is a
function of the operating pressure, temperature and composition of the gas.

Gas in solution (tank gas)

There will be a certain amount of gas that will degas from the oil as the pressure is reduced to
atmospheric condition. This gas will be added to the gas calculated above.
The GOR in solution is a function of the operating pressure and temperature. The unit of the GOR in
solution is in SI units (Sm3/h)/(Sm3/h) and in US-units (SCFD/SBOPD).
As an example if the oil flow rate from a well is 1000SBPD and the GOR in solution at MPFM
conditions is 254 (SCFD/SBOPD), then there will be 254000SCFD of gas still remaining in the oil.
This gas must be added to the measured gas at standard conditions since it would have been
degassed if the pressure and temperature were reduced to standard conditions.

Calculation of oil flow rate at standard conditions

a) IF (P<Pb) & (P>1.0)

Qo,std = Qo,act / BO
b) IF (P>Pb)

Qo,std = Qo,act / {A0 + A1T + ( B0 + B1T )Pb}

c) IF (P<1.0)

Qo,std = Qo,act

Calculation of gas flow rate at standard conditions

IF (P<Pb) & (P>1.0)
Qg,std = GORQo,std + (1/Z) {(273.15+Tref) / (273.15+T)} (P/Pref) Qg,act
IF (P>Pb)
Qg,std =GORmaxQo,std + (1/Z) {(273.15+Tref) / (273.15+T)} (P/Pref) Qg,act
IF (P<1.0)
Qg,std = {(273.15+Tref) / (273.15+T)} Qg,act
