Zen Retreat Center
Objective: Create two rooms, one a waking room to enliven and charge occupants, the other a
retiring room to promote relaxation. Each room must appeal to all the human senses

Human Factors Focus: Deep relaxing colors, soft comfortable places in which to sprawl,
harvested sunsets, rippling water. Numerous locations for seclusion without isolation
Waking room
Human Factors Focus: Bright, vivid colors, electricity and movement underfoot, sharp
invigorating shapes. Uncluttered space in which to move freely, walk, exercise, perform
aerobics or other morning exercises
