DRAMA REFLECTION

WEEK 10 - 10.12.2010 Gökhan ALTUNTAŞ – 301

This week, I have continued to talk about our demonstrations on drama.

Before starting the lesson, we have tried to explain our vocabulary or reading
presentations by using role – play, improvisation, story telling , simulation and
even pantomime. We just tried to adapt them to our ordinary demos and we
understood that it is possible to use at least one or two of them in our teaching.
For example, we can apply to role – playing if we are thinking of teaching video
– related subject or improvisation is also a good choice if the subject is diffucult
to teach.

We have understood that instructions are vitally important for the flow of
the lesson. If students do not know what they are going to do before teacher
starts to give out role cards, then there is problem during learning process. So,
clear intructions and smooth transtions play an important role for the effective
teacher – student interaction.

I liked all of the activities that we performed this week. I suppose I may
use pantomime, role playing in my teaching but I have to focus more on
especially improvisation and simulation.
