English Teaching class. There are 8 students in this group, 3 men and 5 women. The average age of
the students is between 14 and 18 years old, and they speak fluent English because most of them are
Class Profile native. Two Ss, a guy from Slovakia and a girl from Italy had enough exposition to speak English. Both
speak English as their L2. Some students speak several languages because they have different
origins. This aspect makes this class truly multicultural.

This is the first lesson I will do in this class but having the students at a pre-intermediate level I
decided to do a short lesson on modal verbs (can, could, would, will, shall, and should for requests,
offers, invitations, and permission). There will be a PowerPoint presentation to explain what modal
Timetable fit verbs are and in what context they can be used. I will give the students some exercises to do in class
and together we will listen to an audio dialogue exercise. At the end of the lesson, we will listen
together to a funny song on the modal verbs, and I will give them some consolidation papers to study
at home.

Objectives 1. Ss will review their previous studies. 2. Ss will be able to use the modal verbs in the real life for
requests, ask permission, offers, and invitations.
