Introduction

An Excavator Vibro toppled on site at -------. The weight of this excavator is 45T.

The purpose of this recovery plan is to recover this excavator into a save position
for removal from site.

In proposing this recovery process, this plan took safety, surrounding, weight of
excavator, damage parts, potential damages and relevant requirements into
consideration.

Method

1. The ground for positioning the cranes and the final place of excavator will
be placed with steel plates for support.

2. Two cranes of 250 T will be used to recover this 45T excavator. All cranes
will be inspected and checked before commencement of work.

3. All lifting gears used shall be of safety factor of 1.5. They shall be checked
by supervisor and AE before use.

4. Recovery process is directed by one competent person with use of walkie

talkie. No other person shall interfere with the recovery process.

5. This process will be done with in small steps, with constant checking to
ensure:

No ground sinking and outrigger stable.

Slings and shackles are position correctly
Wire ropes are in correct position
Close observation for safety during the hoisting process

6. Crane A will support undercarriage absorbing most of the weight, as shown

in the drawings in access areas.

7. Crane B, 250T will be carrying the boom, located at 1/3 length from the
main body, it carries less weight and acts as a balancing effect.
8. The position and location of both cranes are shown in the drawing, in all
cases exceeding 1.25 safety factor as required by SS 536:2008

9. Crane A will start hoisting with crane B following crane A with regards to
speed and coordination.

10. Both crane will slowly hoist the excavator until the excavator is in between
both cranes in the access area and the excavator will be lowered to ground
level.

11. Once on access area ground, the excavator boom will be lifted by Crane B
while crane A will be used as a support to prevent topple. The excavator is
now being brought to its original standing position.

12. The length of the excavator is 22m and the nearest residential area is 50m
away.

17. Once back into its normal standing position, the excavator will be adjusted
back to original position, and will be fully recovered.
