Break Up
 Viva Voce Examination – 20 marks
 Mid Term Evaluation – Class Test – 20
marks
 End of Semester Evaluation – 50 marks
 Attendance – 10 marks
 Nature of Mid Term Evaluation
 Practical Application of Knowledge
 Testing of Writing Skills
 Written examination to be held in the class
in either October or November, 2008.
 Those who are absent on the date of the
examination will stand to lose the mid
term evaluation marks
 Nature of Viva Voce
 Group activity aimed at practical application of
the knowledge acquired
 Will test any of the areas taught
 Questions will be given on the spot
 Groups will be formed on the spot
 The viva voce will be held either in November
2008.
 Marks will be deducted if people do not appear
as per the announced schedule for the viva voce
examination
Nature of the End of the Semester
Examination
 One question of 15 marks evaluating
theoretical knowledge
 One question of 15 marks evaluating
application of theoretical knowledge
 Two questions of 10 marks each testing
application of writing skills
 It will be conducted as per the schedule
announced
 Method of Evaluation
 Marks will be accorded on the basis of
a. language use – spellings and grammar
b. points made and explanation offered
c. examples provided – their originality and
applicability
d. form and content, as regards writing skills
e. presentation, display of verbal and non verbal
skills, knowledge - for the viva voce
