Greetings to all that travel through the Baptist Bridge!

This will make the fourteenth installment I have ventured across and count it a privilege to be on this trek with
you! I want to thank you for your prayers and support while I was in Russia a few months ago! I have a very
detailed photo journal of those nine days on my Facebook account. I was able to share at our Men’s Prayer
Breakfast and also have done two Tiny Moments times during worship showing some of the people and places
we encountered. There is a new website that has just now been launched that is designed to be able to keep our
lines of communication open in the partnership of ministry to come! The link is www.wvbc-russia.org You
will see all churches we visited plus the other churches in the Ryazan Region.

We are fortunate to have Ms. Debbie Mulneix home with us for a while from her mission work in India! We
have partnered with her in her calling and look forward to that continuing for many years to come. Our Board
of Missions is recommending we support her with a $600 goal through our World Mission Offerring.

We also got to hear from Reeds who are requesting support as they prepare to embark on their mission calling
to Bolivia. The School of Missions is also recommending we support them with a $600 goal through our World
Mission Offering. If they are fully funded, they will embark in July this year!!! JD, Rhonda, Grace, Abie and
Nathan will be taking us with them as the venture out in Jesus’ name!

We continue to be a mission minded people! Thank you for your support and prayers for all the ministries we
partner with both near and far!

Help!

Next time you turn on your computer, go to www.thehungersite.com. It’s a very quick way to
feed the hungry. In fact, at the top of the screen you’ll see not only the hungersite tab but five
others, including literacy, child health, the rain forest, animal rescue, and breast cancer. It takes
about ten seconds to click on all six, but you can pick and choose which ones you prefer.
And its’s all free! — food for the hungry, books for new readers, rescue for an animal, or a hug
for a tree — you choose.
Try it! You’ll like it! — HELP! — www.thehungersite.com

To My Church family,

Thank you so much to those of you who came and supported

me during my recital. It was wonderful to look into the audi-
ence and see everyone.
Thank you also for being such an influence in my life over
the years, I will never forget my years growing up in such a
wonderful church.
It is your support that makes my horn playing worth it.
Thank you again!
Lindsay Bracey

Just a note to say

thanks to all our Philip-
pi Baptist Adopt-A-
Highway volunteers
who came out Saturday
morning, April 30,
2011 to help clean up
our 2.2 mile section of
assigned highway on
Rt. 119, from the Cov-
ered Bridge to the Rt.
57 intersection. Those
helping included Bob-
by Villers, Thomas Vil-
lers, Allison Villers,
Koreen Villers, Pastor
Jon Villers, Clarence Wright, Scott Springer, Haden Cottrill, Gerald Fogg, Bob
Boyer and Craig Cobb. The attached photo shows the whole group except for
Clarence Wright, who started and finished early, and Craig Cobb who took the pic-
ture. Together we cleaned up 20 bags of trash and litter!

Thanks everyone!

Woman of Many Words

―Skip and I are both from Uhrichsville, Ohio, a small manufacturing town where the main product is sewer
tiles,‖ Carol says. ―We met in fourth grade, but it was his father I fell in love with—when I was five. Skip
came later.‖

Both of them are musicians, and it was a position in the Music Department at Alderson-
Broaddus that brought them to Philippi. Carol, who has taught all grades from kindergarten to college,
taught English at A-B and then spent some twenty years running her own business called Writing for You.
―I usually call it WFY,‖ she says, ―because only about a quarter of my time was spent writing. The rest was
in layout and publication set-up.‖ Her office was in a small building which they built adjacent to their home
outside of Nestorville. That’s where they spend ten months of the year, the other two in Florida where they
both enjoy fishing.

Carol describes herself as ―impatient, unable to sit for long without something to engage my mind and hands.
Now that I’m retired, I am happy to indulge my lifelong ambition of writing novels. I’m now on number
five—about a million words so far. I’ve heard it takes ten to get good enough to be published. I’ll never
write fast enough or live long enough to make it, but the process is stimulating and fun.‖ She reports that her
most recent interest is blogging. ―Now when I start up the computer I look at blogs before email. I’m best
as a student, and Internet presents much to learn.

As for the church, Carol has been a member of the Diaconate several times and presently serves on the Board
of Worship. She also sings in the choir and teaches Sunday school. ―Although I appreciate others’ volunteer
work, which I think is so important to good communities, church is the only organization I’m active in. I
admire the service and testimony of our members. Faith has guided and enriched my entire life.‖
