895 Office and stationery supplies, nes

In 2009, the value (in current prices) of exports of office and stationery supplies, nes (SITC group 895) decreased by 14.7 percent and amounted to
11.6 bln US$ (see table 2). For the same period, imports also diminished by 12.6 percent to 12.9 bln US$ (see table 3). Graph 1 shows the decline
in exports for 2009 in this product group, compared with decreases in world exports of miscellaneous manufactured articles (SITC section 8) of
13.1 percent and in total world exports of 22.2 percent. Exports of office and stationery supplies, nes (SITC group 895) accounted for 0.8 percent
of world exports of SITC section 8 and 0.1 percent of total world exports (see table 1).
The top exporting countries in 2009 were China, Germany and Japan (see table 2). They accounted respectively for 19.6, 11.7 and 9.8 percent of
world exports. Top destinations were USA, France and Germany (see table 3). By MDG regions (see graph 2), Eastern Asia recorded a trade surplus
amounting to 1.9 bln US$. A significant trade surplus was also recorded by Developed Asia-Pacific (+700 mln US$). Top trade deficits were recorded
by Developed Europe (-1.4 bln US$), Developed North America (-1.1 bln US$) and Latin America and the Caribbean (-0.4 bln US$).
