    I am very pleased to extend to you an invitation to present a 30-minute session at the 2011 Assessment Institute in Indianapolis to be held at the Westin Indianapolis October 30 November 1. Please plan a presentation on your topic, From Assessment to Curriculum Review Through Multidisciplinary Communities of Practice, to be given on October 31 or November 1 (we will develop the schedule later and contact you again). At this time I am communicating only with you as the principal author of your proposal. If you will have co-presenters, please share this invitation with them. The Institute begins with a selection of optional workshops on Sunday, October 30 and opens officially on Monday, October 31 with a plenary session featuring Cecilia Lopez, Associate Vice Chancellor of Arts and Sciences, City Colleges of Chicago, as the provocateur for the panel of Tom Angelo, Peter Ewell, George Kuh, Jeff Seybert, and me. This will be followed by special track plenary sessions and concurrent workshops. Again this year we present an optional luncheon on Monday where David Paris, Executive Director of the New Leadership Alliance for Student Learning and Accountability, will speak. Tuesdays program will include a second panel and additional concurrent workshops. A special new track will feature presentations based on the work of the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA). We anticipate that some 1000 educators from virtually all of the states and several other countries will take part in the 2011 Institute, a series that began in 1992. I regret that we cannot assist with your registration fee or other expenses. Nevertheless, I sincerely hope that you can accept our invitation. Since we now need to develop a conference brochure, would you be so kind as to let us know very soon (by Friday, June 3 if possible) if you think you can join us? In addition, please send us a new title for your presentation if you want to change the one you sent originally. I hope to see you in Indianapolis in October!
