Present: Deborah Boyer, Charlie Goodyear, Charlie Leonard, Andrea Kirkpatrick, Carmen Santisteban, JC Wallace (via phone) Staff: Marco Li Mandri, Helen Wyman, Maria Pecot Presentation by The Registry Advertorial piece focused on Downtown/Lake Merritt/Uptown district activities High gloss pullout inserted into The Registry Sales team would sell ads to pay for the production of the piece CBD members and tenants would be solicited to participate Would include an overrun of 1,000 copies for CBDs Piece would tell the full story of the area with articles thfocusing on a variety of topics to get across a certain message. Should include a map, possible to sell listings to businesses CBDs would be expected to promote by sending a letter from the Presidents endorsing the project and encouraging participation. Larger organizations would be targeted but smaller ads could be offered by dividing up a larger ad and sharing the cost. Registry has a reputable editor, targeted market, slick looking, has capital (still a start-up) Need 6-8 weeks to produce (goal would be August/Sept) issue Discussion: JC requested additional discussion as whether to go with the Registry vs. another paper Hiring a PR Firm for Uptown Unveiled Charlie and Diane estimated that it would cost around $7,000 to hire a PR Firm to handle the Uptown Unveiled event. They agreed to draft a press release for the CBD launch party for staff to use and distribute. Task Force agreed to use their firms to help distribute the press release and get the word out about the launch party and staff would take the lead on putting together the press kits and getting them out to the media.
