Head of School Position

The Board of Directors of Richard Winn Academy in Winnsboro, SC, a Christian-based,

college preparatory school, is seeking an exemplary and visionary leader for the position
of Head of School who will continue the long-standing philosophy of the school.
Richard Winn Academy, founded in 1966, serves approximately 335 students in grades
K3-12.

Qualified candidates should be articulate with good written and communication skills.
Candidates must have the ability to work with differing needs of elementary, middle and
high school students, faculty, and parents while promoting a spirit of teamwork and
cooperation among all levels within the organization. Knowledge of business principles,
funds’ development in private education, and admission procedures and policies is
helpful. The Head of School is responsible for all day-to-day operations. This will
include directing all professional, administrative, and non-professional personnel
assigned to the school and providing opportunities for staff development and growth.
The Head of School will participate in design of and/or continual review of school
curriculum. Head of School reports directly to the board. A minimum five years
combined classroom and administrative experience is preferred. A master’s degree in a
related educational field is required.
